The most important issue with projectors is probably the brightness. Not only are all cats gray at night, but all projectors are bright enough, but in daylight the wheat separates from the chaff. The new projector offers 2,400 ANSI lumens in contrast to 2,000 in the direct predecessor.

The image produced should again be up to 150 inches in size, depending on how far away the projector is from the wall. For example, a 100-inch image is created at a distance of 20 cm from the screen. As a reminder and for all those who are unfamiliar with the term: A short-throw projector is – as the name suggests – directly in front of the wall instead of a few meters away and throws the image diagonally upwards. The projection ratio according to the description is 0.23:1.

The projector uses ALPD technology , i.e. it works with a laser as the light source. The resolution of the projection is 4K, but exact details on this cannot yet be found on Xiaomiyoupin.

The projector is slightly larger and heavier than previous models and weighs 9 kg. Two 15-watt speakers provide the sound, Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD are on board. The built-in fan is said to be particularly quiet with a volume of less than 30dB (we already liked that with the Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro).

MIUI TV runs as the operating system on the device, but experience has shown that the Chinese version can only be used in Chinese. We'll have to wait and see whether we'll have to find our own solutions for the English language and Google services, or whether an international version will also appear.
